Who invented this Affiliate Internet Marketing?

Many said that affiliate marketing has started at a cocktail party. Jeff Bezos, CEO and founder of Amazon.com, was chatting with one woman-guest who wanted to sell books on her web site.

This made the founder of Amazon.com to ask "Why not have the woman link her site to Amazon's and receive a commission on the books that she sold?" Thereafter, Amazon.com introduced the Amazon Associates Program, a free online affiliate program. Just a simple money making idea. Amazon affiliates or associates will place banner or text links on their site for individual books or link directly to the Amazon's home page.

But it was contested that Amazon.com is the first to introduce the affiliate program. According to Brad Waller, VP of EPage.com's Affiliate Management, the affiliate program for EPage started in April 1996 as evidenced by "The CDNow Story: Rags to Riches on the Internet". Hence, CDNow's affiliate program is earlier than Amazon.com's by more than a year.

Anyway, this is not your problem. I know you are here to make money online. So, let's leave it to them.
